Deltares USA Inc. (DUSA) is an independent not-for-profit research and consulting organization based in Silver Spring, MD. Deltares USA is a registered 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in the state of Maryland.

Areas of focus are, among others:
1.    Operational Forecasting and Real-Time Control. Deltares USA has enabled well-balanced reservoir management operations by generating integrated modeling systems that allow a range of reservoir service to be executed, prioritized, while optimally using all operational data and models available. Also, regarding, River and Flood Forecasting, in the United States and Canada, Deltares has created dozens of Delft-FEWS systems that ensure reliable river and flood forecasting platform for many agencies.

2.    Coastal modeling. Deltares USA specializes in the application of coastal modeling software and develops state-of-the-art capabilities with respect to numerical modeling. We have extensive experience in coastal modeling projects with specific reference to hydrodynamics, waves, overland flooding and sediment dynamics by working with numerous consultants, universities, federal and local organisations. 

3.    Urban resilience. Cities face a growing range of adversities and challenges in the 21st century. From the effects of climate change to growing migrant populations to inadequate infrastructure to pandemics to cyber-attacks. Resilience is what helps cities adapt and transform in the face of these challenges, helping them to prepare for both the expected and the unexpected.

4.    Open-source software.  We share our knowledge with a 'dare to share' philosophy that offers us opportunities to do even better and to learn from each other. Part of this philosophy, are open-source simulation software products, such as the Delft3D Flexible Mesh Suite (Delft3D FM) for modeling of coastal waters, estuaries, rivers, lakes, rural and urban areas. More than 180 USA and Canadian universities are using the Delft3D software, and 24.000+ software users and developers worldwide joined the open source community.
